There are several people who believe that Indians can innovate/invent and cite several instances of such innovations.
I strongly disagree with this canard.
The only way to assess ‘India’s innovative spirit’ is to view it in the right context. And there is no better benchmark than American ingenuity through the 1900s which clearly indicates the collective innovative spirit of an entire country.

I hope this will inspire more and more Indians to imagine, experiment and participate in innovating. A few random ‘innovators’ cannot solve our problems and Indians need to get on the innovation bandwagon en masse.
